Today, two of the most popular social media platforms, Instagram and Facebook, suddenly stopped working, causing problems for users around the world. While it was difficult to post on Instagram, it was also possible to post or upload something on Facebook. The impact of this outage was felt in many countries, including India, the US and Singapore.
According to Down Detector, complaints of Facebook Instagram being down in India were reported at around 2:20 pm today. Users reported that their feed was not refreshing, some parts of the app were not opening. There were also problems sending direct messages (DMs). However, the issue does not seem to be affecting all users. Some apps were able to open but many features were not working. However, it was not possible to upload anything on Instagram.
According to the report, the problem was not limited to Instagram, Facebook was also affected. Facebook users also faced issues using the app. Websites and apps were not opening, news feeds were not loading, and access to account search was not possible. Meta has not yet provided any information about the issue.
