Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s autobiography Billing: A Journey of Love has been given the green signal. It will be published by HarperCollins in India. There were doubts about the publication of the book after Penguin refused to print the book in India. Penguin even suggested making some changes in the manuscript of the book and deleting some parts. But Sonia Gandhi did not want any changes in the book. She said that it is based on her life story. So she does not want to make any changes in it. This may distort the information about her and her views. For this reason, she canceled the deal with Penguin.
HarperCollins announced the publication of the book in a post on Instagram. In this post, it is written that HarperCollins India will publish Sonia Gandhi’s book Billing: A Journey of Love. This long-awaited autobiography will be published in India on November 10. People will get to know about a thrilling story of love, identity, duty and humiliation. It will give a different perspective to know India a little deeper.
Meanwhile, after the deal was canceled, Penguin has clarified. Penguin has said that it is a process of the publisher to check the facts and give editorial advice. They were also willing to publish this book. However, Congress leaders Ashok Gehlot, Kamal Nath and Gaurav Gogoi have condemned this move by Penguin. They have called it political pressure. The Congress has asked why Penguin India is raising objections when Penguin’s international brand has agreed to print this book without changes globally?
