Actor and wrestler Saurav Gurjar has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman under the pretext of marriage. The police provided this information on Sunday. According to police reports, the woman had lodged a complaint at the Gachibowli police station in August, stating that she had been in a relationship with Saurav Gurjar for over five years.
According to the woman’s complaint, Saurav had promised to marry her and build a future together. Trusting this promise, she lived with him at various locations. She further alleged that Saurav later deceived her and subjected her to physical and sexual abuse. According to a police official, a case was registered against Sourav based on the woman’s complaint. He was detained at Mumbai airport on September 18 and subsequently brought to Hyderabad. The official stated that Sourav was arrested and produced before a local court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
Allegation regarding quitting a job in the US
The complainant claims that she and Sourav lived together at various locations in the US and India. She alleges that he repeatedly promised marriage and a future together. According to the woman, while in the US, Sourav had proposed that she return to India permanently to work with him in his business. The woman has alleged that, trusting his words, she quit her job in the US and traveled to various locations to live with Saurav.
Claim of living together from October 2025 to March 2026
According to the police, the woman alleged that Saurav lived with her again from October 2025 to March 2026. It is alleged that he subsequently stopped communicating with her. Later, Saurav helped her relocate to Hyderabad but failed to fulfill his promise of marriage, the woman claimed. Eventually, she approached the police.
