A news circulating on social media regarding the 8th Pay Commission has increased the concerns of central employees and pensioners. It was claimed that the pension of some retired central employees may be stopped or only those retiring after 2026 will get the benefit of pension revision. Now a big update has come out regarding this claim.
NC-JCM Staff Side General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra has termed these news as completely wrong. He said that the talk of pension being stopped or some retired employees being excluded from pension revision is completely baseless.
Shiv Gopal Mishra has issued a video message and asked pensioners not to believe in such rumours. He informed that many pensioners contacted him because such messages were being circulated on social media in his name, which said that pension would be stopped.
It was also claimed on social media that only employees retiring after 2026 will get the benefit of pension revision under the 8th Pay Commission.
Mishra clarified the position on this too. According to him, the 8th Pay Commission is discussing the issue of pensioners who retired earlier or later. That is, no decision has been taken yet that old pensioners will be excluded from the pension revision.
Issues related to employees as well as pensioners are also being placed before the 8th Pay Commission. The NC-JCM staff side has already demanded that current pensioners and family pensioners be explicitly included in the pension revision.
In a memorandum sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in November 2025, the organisation demanded a change in the Terms of Reference. This included the demand to include the existing pensioners and family pensioners in the ambit of pension revision and to empower the Commission to recommend the date of its implementation.
It is premature to say anything now about the percentage or amount of pension increase after the 8th Pay Commission. The decision will be based on the final recommendation of the Commission and then the approval of the government.
Similarly, various employee organizations have also put forward their demands regarding the Fitment Factor. NC-JCM Staff Side has already put forward demands like 3.83 Fitment Factor and Rs. 69,000 as the minimum Basic Pay, but these are only demands, no final estimate has been decided by the government.
