In the film industry, actresses often have to face such demands from producers during shooting, which are very difficult for them to fulfill. Bollywood actress Dia Mirza also had this happen to her. Recently, Dia opened up about the early days of her career and the challenges she faced while working on films. Dia shared an experience related to the song ‘Mujhe Tumse Mohabbat Hai’ from the 2004 film ‘Tumsa Nehin Dekta’. She said that during the shooting of this song, she had to take off her clothes in front of 100 people.
Dia Mirza is a well-known actress in Bollywood. She is not only known for her films, but also for her frank comments. Recently, while giving an interview to ‘Bollywood Bubble’, Dia said, “It liberated me in a way that I never thought possible.” After that, I was able to perform the song with full confidence, which was because of Beibhavi Merchant, who was the choreographer of the song. Also, everyone working there made me feel very safe.
Dia added, “But as a girl, it was one of the most difficult jobs for me. Because I had to be almost naked in front of hundreds of men present on the set. I had to shoot only in underwear and bra.”
Dia added, “By then, I had understood that for an actor, it is most important to understand the truth of the character. How do I explain it? It seemed like that at the time, but it didn’t really feel that way, because when we shot the song, I had understood very well that as an artist, it is very important to find the truth of the character and what message you give through your role. So, for me, it didn’t matter whether there were 500 people in that house or 1,000 people.”
The actress added, “I feel that many of the things that happened in my early career have shaped me as an artist. If I can bring a real-life experience to any given moment, it is because I have overcome many obstacles in my journey of 25 years and I feel like it is a continuous process. Hopefully I will keep learning and getting better.”
