If you have not yet done e-KYC for your LPG connection, then you must complete this task before 16th August 2026. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have made Aadhaar-based e-KYC mandatory for uninterrupted LPG service.
Why is biometric e-KYC important?
E-KYC identifies genuine customers and stops fake or duplicate connections. Apart from this, the subsidy (DBT) available under the Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) remains safe and black marketing of gas cylinders is curbed. It is worth noting that users who have already done e-KYC do not need to do it again.
Indane Gas e-KYC (Steps)
Indane users download the IndianOil One app and AadhaarFaceRD app on their phones. Login with your registered mobile number and go to My Profile, link your 16-digit LPG ID and click on the re-KYC option.
Bharat Gas e-KYC (Steps)
Bharat Gas customers download the Hello BPCL app on their phones. After registering with your mobile number, tap on the e-KYC option given on the homepage. Submit the 6-digit OTP received on your number and accept the terms and conditions to complete the process.
HP Gas e-KYC: Through Face Scan
HP Gas users download the HP Pay app and log in by setting the MPIN. Go to the LPG section and click on e-KYC. After accepting the terms and conditions, tap on Capture Face and complete KYC by scanning your face through the AadhaarFaceRD app.
Do this offline e-KYC by visiting the distributor
You can also do e-KYC by visiting your local gas agency (Indane, BPCL or HPCL). For this, you will need to take your Aadhaar card and LPG connection papers with you. There, the verification process will be completed instantly through a biometric or fingerprint machine.
What happens if you do not do e-KYC?
1.Loss of Subsidy: If you are receiving the benefit of Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) or general government subsidy, then the subsidy money coming to your bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will be stopped.
2.Cylinders may be expensive: Due to non-subsidization, you will have to buy gas cylinders at the full market price (Non-Subsidized Rate).
3.Gas cylinder booking or delivery may be stopped: Oil companies (Indane, HP, Bharat Gas) may temporarily stop refill booking or delivery of connections without e-KYC.
4.Connection blocked or suspended: E-KYC has been made mandatory to remove fake and duplicate connections. If verification is not done within the time limit, your connection may be temporarily made Inoperative/Blocked.
