Is E-20 Petrol Damaging Your Vehicle Engine? Dealers Demand Review Of Ethanol Policy

Now, there is a nationwide backlash against E-20 petrol mixed with ethanol. The Petroleum Dealers Association has requested a review before its implementation across the country. The association claims that operational problems have been seen in oil tanks due to high levels of ethanol. Vehicle owners are coming to the oil tanks as problems are being seen in vehicles across the country.

2 days ago, various auto companies and industry experts had argued in favor of E-20 petrol. E-20 compliant vehicles were tested in multiple stages and found to be completely safe. Petroleum Dealers Association President Shashank Shekhar Sahu said, customers who are using E-20 petrol are facing problems. This is due to the problem of running petrol pumps. If the country’s fuel policy is not determined by dealers, then all the problems have to be faced at the grassroots level. In such a situation, there is a need to reconsider E-20 fuel.

He further said that even now in many countries, ethanol blending is limited to about 10% level. India has decided to have 20% ethanol blending. Most of the vehicles in the market with BS are not designed to run on E-20 fuel. There are allegations that E-20 fuel is causing carburetor and other mechanical problems. People are getting angry with petrol pump owners and employees due to such problems. While the government has introduced such oil, dealers are only selling it.

He said that dealers are being targeted by the people despite having no role in the policy decision. The government is encouraging the use of E-20 across the country to reduce dependence on fuel imports. Vehicle companies are also being encouraged to produce it.
