Odisha rasgola got the GI tag by keeping such a content about rasgola. But Khordha did not mention its origin. Many things have been registered in the official records as the place of origin of one or more districts in getting the GI tag. But Puri has not been included in the list of places of origin of rasgola. So far, Konark stone carvings, paintings, Pipili Chandua work, Odisha rasgola logo of Puri have found a place in the GI (Geographical Indication) registration list. While Puri’s paper face and soul work handicrafts have been applied for the GI tag through the MSME department of the state government.

Similarly, the costumes of tiger face, Hanuman face, bear face, etc. made of paper are popular. The cottage industry of Puri is rich in this. The artisans of Puri are skilled in this. Therefore, if it gets the GI tag, the sales of these items of Puri could play a special role.
